Dr. Hoepner is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who graduated from the State University of Iowa College of Medicine and interned at Philadelphia General Hospital. He served his Ophthalmology residency at the University of Pennsylvania Scheie Eye Institute. Dr. Hoepner became Emeritus Professor and Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Upstate Medical University in February 2013 after having served as chairman for more than 28 years, as well as having served as Director of the Center for Vision Care and Research in Syracuse. He is a Co-Founder of the Center for Vision Research, a leading center for research of major eye diseases and vision disorders.
